The art of having custom made clothing made for you and only you is an entirely different experience to buying “off-the-peg” or even made to measure: each garment is carefully created using your measurements and crafted to your exact brief. You will be sure of a perfect fit, elegance, style, and something solely exceptional that simply cannot be achieved with the purchase of a made-to-measure garment.
We understand that ordering a custom made suit for the first time can be a daunting prospect to many people – we’re here to help you every step of the way to make sure your experience is as satisfactory and smooth as possible.
Your experience at Harris & Howard Bespoke begins with the initial consultation with your clothier. This is the first step in making your ideas come to life. As we’re visiting clothiers, this will be at your home or office. We’ll ask you a few questions to find out your clothing likes and dislikes, upcoming events, and what you currently have in your existing closet in order to offer guidance, recommendations, and expert advice on what would work best for you and your occasion. Anything is possible at this stage, and almost every request can be met.

With a vast range of swatches, you’ll have the opportunity to choose from the most prestigious cloth manufacturers in the world. We have hundreds of suit and shirt cloths to select from in varying weights, colors, compositions, and finishes. Your choice of material is of equal importance to the cut and style of the suit, so peruse the cloth books at your leisure, and don’t worry about being stuck for a decision; your clothier will be at your side to offer their guidance and steer you towards the cloth that best fulfills your requirements. Once the cloth has been selected, couple it with the lining or trim you desire. We ensure that every garment that leaves our hands is a unique collaboration between you and us. |
Now to embark on a selection of the finer details that give your garment a bolder, more ‘you,’ aesthetic – and with countless stylistic options at our disposal, there’s something for everyone. Decide on everything from the cut and shape to the buttons, and threads, pick a pocket or two, and if desired, the embroidery. Where possible, we utilize our CGI technology to create a virtual impression of your designs so that you can have a good idea and understanding of how the finished garment will look. This is excellent for reviewing how the full ensemble will look when put together. |
Your measurements are paramount to the fit of the garment, so our trained clothiers will then take an average of over 35 detailed measurements while taking into consideration your posture and shoulder positioning to ensure we achieve the most complimentary cut and configuration for your body. Finally, when you’re satisfied with your chosen garment, and we’ve taken all the necessary measurements to start the tailoring process, we’ll take a 50% deposit and schedule your fitting. It’s important to understand that the custom made process should not be rushed, so we recommend allowing at least 6-8 weeks between consultation and fitting to give time for craftsmanship of the highest quality. |
The moment we’ve finished crafting your garment, your clothier will request to see you for your fitting. As you try the garment on, they will carefully assess the fit and form of the final cut to ensure it’s perfect and as desired. If any refinements or final details are required, such as nipping it in or shortening the trousers, your clothier will chalk, pin and adjust the garment until you are satisfied with the look and fit. Once the alterations have been efficiently carried out, your pattern is updated, your balance is collected, and the custom made garment is yours to start wearing. Our service doesn’t end at delivery. After taking your garment and wearing it a few times, don’t worry about contacting us if you’d like to make a few adjustments. We’ll happily alter or press your garment at no extra charge until we have your complete satisfaction. |
